Professional musician Désirée Pousaz impresses with her great virtuosity and carefully compiled programs. She is particularly interested in the (forgotten) works of female composers.

With four or five strings, solo or in a duo

Violinist Désirée Pousaz wanders the wild paths of Western music in an unconventional and sensitive manner. Whether on four (violin) or five (violin quinton) strings - solo works by female composers from the 20th and 21st centuries are her specialty. The curious musician also has pieces by baroque masters in her repertoire. She carefully compiles her often surprising programs. She is also happy to consider individual musical requests.

Since 2010, Désirée Pousaz has also repeatedly performed as a violin duo with musician friends. The duo also has an extensive repertoire - from Orlando di Lasso to Tina Ternes.

The musician

Désirée Pousaz has a teaching and concert diploma SMPV for violin. She played in the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra (SJSO) during her time at grammar school and was subsequently a member of the basel sinfonietta and the 21st Century Orchestra Lucerne for many years.

From 2014 to the beginning of 2017, she was concertmaster of the newly founded Orchestre de Chambre du Valais. As a chamber musician, she has been performing the works of female composers as a soloist or in ensembles since 2012. After almost twenty years in the cultural city of Basel, she has lived in Upper Valais again since the end of 2020 and works as a freelance musician and violin teacher.
