Yodel, pop and chanson
Christine Lauterburg reinterprets yodeling. With her performances, she makes folk music approachable and, in addition to the listening experience, always ensures strong artistic performances. As a pioneer of new folk music, she breaks down the boundaries between tradition and modernity and creates moments of rare authenticity. Whether yodeling, playing the violin or the Langnauerörgeli - her performances are far more than just music; they are powerful performances that combine archaic natural yodeling with the urban zeitgeist. She also feels at home in pop, chanson and world music. She describes herself as follows: "Like a rare alpine flower in the rugged mountains - unrivaled, vulnerable, tenacious."
40 years of experience
The artist has been active in the music industry for 40 years. She has appeared on stage in various formations, participated in projects and released albums and reinterpretations of folk song classics such as "Anneli". She has helped write a good piece of Swiss music and cultural history.
Actress and singer
Even as a child, Christine Lauterburg dreamed of becoming a singer. At first, however, she took a different path and attended drama school. She later performed on stages in Europe and elsewhere. She only rediscovered her passion for singing a few years later. She found the right form of music for her: Jutz - an ancient form of yodeling. Since then, the vocal virtuoso has put her stamp on yodeling, which can sometimes turn into danceable techno yodeling during her impressive performances. The well-known Bernese artist was awarded the Swiss Music Prize in 2021.
