Jazz and Latin at your party
Give your event a groovy touch! The trio "The Jazz Lounge" is specialized in jazz and Latin. Whether with stimulating sounds in the background to an aperitif or with a concertante interlude between courses, whether at private celebrations such as birthdays and weddings or at company events and vernissages: the professional ensemble will put together a suitable music programme for you.
The three musicians
Rotraut Jäger studied classical flute at the Mainz Conservatory (music education) and at the Zurich University of the Arts (concert diploma), followed by studies in jazz at the same institute in Zurich and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. She teaches flute and gives concerts in various formations in the fields of classical music, jazz and Latin.
Theo Kapilidis studied guitar at the Swiss Jazz School Bern. He is professor for jazz guitar at the Zurich University of the Arts and performs frequently at home and abroad. In 2016 his album "Inside Views" was released, which he recorded as bandleader with Will Winson (saxophone), Glenn Zaleski (piano), Rick Rosato (bass), and Colin Stranahan (drums).
The double bass player Fridolin Blumer studied at the Jazz Department of the Basel Music Academy. For many years he has been researching the musical tradition, the acoustic events of today and the way the bass is played in relation to them. From this he develops his own new musical language and is often on stage as improviser and interpreter.
