Original composition and improvisation
Sandra Dicht and An Chen draw on the deep power of folk music with voice, violin, gouna (cello), shrutibox and bodhrán. Their music is straightforward, direct and touching - an interplay of yodeling, old melodies, their own compositions and free improvisation.
The result is not a fusion: through their arrangements, the two artists bring different musical styles into dialog without mixing them.
A feel for the occasion
The SANG duo responds to spaces and people with a keen instinct. The artists prefer to make music in connection with art, text or ritual - in cultural venues, at vernissages, in church services, at festivals or in social and care facilities. They give the music space and allow it to take effect - sometimes quietly and meditatively, sometimes powerfully and polyphonically.
Singing together is also part of their work. The two musicians offer sing-along moments and, on request, combine concerts with a yodeling workshop beforehand. This creates encounters - the musicians also open up access to folk music for people who don't have it.
