Festive entertainment
The Swiss Oboe Band was founded in 2014 by Johannes Knoll in Basel and specializes in the musical accompaniment of weddings, anniversaries and festive meals.
The whole thing happens in the style of the baroque, as it was lived at the court of the Sun King (Louis XIV). Music is played on historical instruments. If desired, a dancer in historical costume can also perform.
Music palette and dance
The ensemble offers table music as it was heard in the 17th and 18th centuries. With entertaining moderation, a historical and cultural context is created on request.
The Swiss Oboe Band also works closely with Barbara Leitherer, the lecturer for historical dance at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. She dances to the sounds of the band and then leads the society to simple dances of the 18th century.
If there are children
The program "Wig, powder and beauty spot" offers entertainment for children. The dancing master with her historical costumes transforms the children present into princes, princesses and the whole court around them. Getting up, dressing, dancing and fencing lessons, manners and hunting are explained by Barbara Leitherer and accompanied by the Swiss Oboe Band.
